Amir believed very strongly in giving back to the communities that he was part of. In doing so, he left this world a little better than when he found it. He began NYCPUL (New York City Public Ultimate League) because he wanted to give back to the NYC ultimate community a league imbued with his spirit of fun, fair play, and the desire to have a good game.
Members of the NYCPUL community have honored his memory, by hosting their Annual Amir Lopatin ("In the Spirit of the
Game") Memorial Ultimate Tournaments at East Meadow in Central Park.
